When I was little, I found a stray black puppy with white paws.
In Taiwan, people used to say that dogs with white feet brought bad luck, so I knew my mom wouldn't let me keep her.
So I grabbed a Sharpie and colored her paws black.
Of course, it didn't work.
About a week later, the marker faded away. My mom finally noticed the white paws.
By then, it was too late.
We'd already fallen in love with her.
She stayed with our family until she was eighteen years old.
Looking back, I think that's why animals have always found their way into my drawings.
I've never been interested only in the "cute" ones.
I love pigeons, possums, raccoons, frogs, weird-looking fish...
Every animal has its own personality.
I just enjoy finding it.
Maybe that's why animals appear in almost everything I create.
They make me smile.
I hope they make you smile too.
很多客人好奇，為什麼我們的作品裡總是有動物。
小時候，我曾經撿到一隻流浪小黑狗。因為她有四隻白腳，當時有人說這樣的狗不吉利，所以我知道我媽一定不會答應讓我養她。於是我偷偷拿了馬克筆，把她的白腳塗黑（笑）。
當然，一個星期後就露餡了。不過那時候，就連我媽也覺得: 此時再把她丟回街上就太過分了，所以她也陪伴我們十八年。
回頭想想，也許就是從那時開始，我總是特別容易看見動物身上的魅力。不只是可愛的動物，鴿子、負鼠、浣熊，甚至長得有點奇怪的魚，我都覺得牠們各自有著獨特的個性。
而我最喜歡做的，就是把這些個性畫下來，變成衣服、包包或是飾品的一部分，希望牠們也能讓你會心一笑。
